Fantasy football transfer tips
The Premier League is back with its sixth instalment of games and features some intriguing encounters and individual match-ups.
With the next wave of fixtures just around the corner you may be tempted into some alterations, here, Coral football writers have picked out some Premier League fantasy football transfer tips…
Aguero primed to pounce on Prem return
After Sergio Aguero received a three-match ban for an elbow on Winston Reid, fantasy football players were quick to switch the Argentine out, as almost 50 per cent of players possessed him in their side.
However, with him about to make return to action, Aguero could be in for an excellent weekend. The lethal marksman has nine in just five games this term and boasts an intriguing record when returning from injury.
Last season, when returning from a spell on the sidelines, he was involved in a goal three of four times in his first game back. Aguero netted twice and provided an assist on his comebacks and is 3/1 with Coral to score first against Swansea City.
However, a cheaper alternative to either opt for or keep in your side, is Chelsea’s Diego Costa at the fantasy price of £9.8m compared to Aguero at £13m.
The Brazilian-born Spain international is the Premier League joint-highest scorer this term, with five goals in as many league games and three in his last two outings.
Bellerin out
Almost 25 per cent of fantasy managers chose Catalan defender Hector Bellerin in their selections but, with just one clean sheet in five games, his inclusion for the hefty price of £6.5m cannot be justified as cheaper alternatives are consistently out performing the Spaniard.
Instead, look to add Tottenham’s Kyle Walker at £5.8m. The right back is the highest scoring fantasy league defender thus far, racking up an incredible 33 points from three clean sheets and two assists.
Walker is fresh off the back of signing a new bumper contract and faces Middlesbrough this weekend, a team struggling for goals – making a clean sheet likely. The England full back is 7/1 to remain the top points scoring defender until the end of the season.
Move for maestro midfielders
Surprisingly, only 18.4 per cent of fantasy players have selected midfield dynamo Kevin De Bruyne. The redheaded Belgium star has four assist and two goals in all competitions this season and is Pep Guardiola’s star man, in a team yet to drop any points this term.
Manchester City will face a Swansea side with one of the worst home records in the division, so expect points from De Bruyne.
However, if you can’t afford the Belgian’s huge £10.8m fee, Coral football writers have an alternative.
Watford’s Etienne Capoue is the league’s highest points scoring midfielder, after a blistering start to the campaign that has racked up 44 points so far.
The Frenchman has netted an incredible four goals and an assist this term and doesn’t look like slowing down anytime soon, coming off a historic victory over Manchester last weekend.
