Everton v Crystal Palace
- Premier League
- Monday, December 7th
- Kick-off: 20:00 GMT
- Goodison Park, Liverpool
- Live on Sky Sports 1
Indifferent form for both sides
While Everton are favourites at 21/20 with Coral to beat Crystal Palace, the Eagles were devastating last time out in their 5-1 thrashing of Newcastle.
The Toffees meanwhile, were held away in a 3-3 draw to Bournemouth last time out in the league and also played in the Capital One Cup in midweek, beating Middlesbrough 2-0 as Gerard Deulofeu and Romelu Lukaku got on the scoresheet. Deulofeu who was man-of-the-match, also getting on the scoresheet is available at 7/2 to net anytime.
Although this could be advantageous for the Eagles, they will be in front of a raucous Goodison Park crowd and all the signs point to a draw, on offer at a very favourable 5/2 price.
However, Palace can make it a third consecutive 3-2 victory on Toffees turf, with that outcome on offer at 28/1 should punters fancy a long shot. No doubt both Everton and Crystal Palace will have earmarked this match as a great opportunity to pick up three points though, before a hectic Premier League fixture schedule over Christmas.
Barkley v Cabaye
This match serves up plenty of intrigue, though one player battle to watch will be Everton’s Ross Barkley Eagles’ Yohan Cabaye.
The former has been arguably the Toffees’ standout performer this term and it is his form at club level that has led to him impressing for England.
With six goals in 14 Premier League appearances so far this season, Barkley’s odds of 6/4 to net anytime are tempting, though he is expected to go toe-to-toe with Cabaye.
The Frenchman has adapted to life back in the Premier League well and his all-action style has been fundamental to his side. With four goals in 14 top flight appearances this term, he has established himself as a capable penalty taker and odds of 5/1 in the anytime market could be worth a punt.
Last term’s scorers enjoying good spell
In the 3-2 result in this fixture previously, two players who are currently in great form for their respective clubs were on the scoresheet.
For Everton it was the lethal Lukaku who broke the deadlock and the Belgian is available at 4/1 in the same market this time.
Palace attacker Yannick Bolasie was also on target in that outing and is well worth taking a chance on at 7/2 to find the net anytime.
Both players have also scored three in their last three league matches so go into this clash boasting fantastic form, for a match which promises goals.
