Premier League Betting Tips: Spurs to open new stadium with a vital win?
Published:Odd and preview for Wednesday’s top-flight games
Manchester City can take another step towards the title against Cardiff City tonight, but the race for a top-four spot takes centre stage elsewhere.
We’ve got a full preview of the action at the Etihad, but keep reading as we get stuck into the first match at Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium and Chelsea’s trip to Brighton & Hove Albion…
Tottenham v Crystal Palace (7:45pm)
It’s taken much longer than planned, but Spurs finally kick-off in their brand new stadium tonight. After five league games without a win, Mauricio Pochettino’s side need to rebuild some momentum.
They’re 4/9 to mark the grand opening with a win, with Palace 6/1 outsiders to spoil the party. The draw is going for 7/2.
Spurs have won each of the last five league meetings between these sides by a goal to nil. We go 7/1 that the streak continues here.
Harry Kane’s scored in five of his last six games for club and country. There’s no surprise that he’s 12/5 favourite to open the scoring, or 8/11 to net anytime.
The visitors may have knocked Spurs out of the FA Cup, but no Palace player has scored a league goal against Spurs for over four years. Michy Batshuayi is 14/5 to change that, with Wilfried Zaha at 16/5.
Chelsea v Brighton (7:45pm)
After an underwhelming display at Cardiff City, Maurizio Sarri is set to bring Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante back into the starting XI here.
The Blues are 3/10 favourites for a fourth consecutive win over the Seagulls. Brighton are 29/10 to come away with a result in the Double Chance market.
The visitors have only scored once against Chelsea in their previous six clashes – a run stretching back to 1983. There’s 10/11 about a home win to nil.
Sarri has a choice to make in attack. Hazard is 14/5 favourite to get the first goal, but who starts up front?
Gonzalo Higuain hasn’t convinced since arriving in January. He’s 21/20 to score, with Olivier Giroud at 23/20.
As ever, Brighton will be looking to Glenn Murray to net. Our traders have the veteran at 14/5 to do just that.
