Premier League Betting Tips: Sheffield United and Wolves clash on European hunt

Team news, odds and previews ahead of tonight’s matches
After a dropping points in recent weeks, Sheffield United’s European ambitions have taken a hit but they could get back on track against another team on the hunt, Wolves.
Elsewhere, Manchester City will be hoping to bounce back from a shock defeat against Southampton with a home match against Newcastle, while there’s a battle of the Claret and Blues as West Ham host Burnley before Brighton take on champions Liverpool.
Ahead of all of tonight’s matches, we’ve cast our eye over the latest odds and look at how tonight’s games can shape the table.
Steve Bruce takes his Newcastle United side to the Etihad Stadium in a good run of form in the Premier League, unbeaten in six, claiming important wins against Sheffield United, Southampton and Bournemouth in that spell.
In contrast, Pep Guardiola’s side have relinquished the title to Liverpool after months of waiting and have lost two of their last three league matches. In the table, they’ve seen their lead over third cut to only six points.
Despite that, we’ve still got the Cityzens as the odds-on 1/10 favourites, with the Magpies out at 22/1. You can find the draw priced up at 9/1.
The sides have already met twice this season, playing out a 2-2 draw in November before City knocked Newcastle out of the FA Cup just two weeks ago with a 2-0 victory. A repeat win to nil here for City can be found at 2/3.
Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus lead the goalscorer markets at 10/3 to score first, or 5/6 anytime. For Newcastle, Dwight Gayle heads the betting as 18/1 favourite to score first, or 5/1 anytime. There’s 13/2 about an Andy Carroll goal anytime.
City are still without Sergio Agüero, but Kevin De Bruyne is expected to return to the starting XI after he was benched against Southampton. Newcastle have somewhat of an injury crisis at the back with Florian Lejeune and Ciaran Clark missing. They could be without star men Miguel Almirón and Allan Saint-Maximin too.
Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United have struggled since the break, winning only one from four on their return. Four points from a possible six in their last two matches may have seen them turn a corner.
Wolves were one of the form sides going into their last match against Arsenal, winning three on the bounce without conceding. That run came to an end in a well below-par performance, and they’ll know that another defeat tonight would blow the race for sixth wide open.
We’ve got Wolves as 23/20 favourites pre-match, with the Blades 29/10 to win three points. The draw can be found at 2/1.
Lys Mousset is favourite to break the deadlock for the home side. We’ve got 5/1 on the Frenchman scoring first, or 23/10 anytime. Billy Sharp is an 11/4 pick anytime.
Mexican striker Raul Jimenez has been unplayable at times for Wolves this season with 15 league goals to his name. He’s 10/3 to score first, or 3/2 anytime. Elsewhere, Diogo Jota is 3/1 anytime.
Wolves have a clean bill of health for this game, while Wilder’s Blades will be without John Lundstram, Luke Freeman, John Fleck and Leon Clarke due to injuries.
David Moyes’ West Ham side sit four points above the relegation zone with five games left, knowing a win over Burnley would all but secure their Premier League place next season. They’re unbeaten in their last two, with an impressive 3-2 win over Chelsea kick-starting their streak.
As for Burnley, they were just 10 minutes from securing a third 1-0 win on the spin. They’re still on a three-game unbeaten run and have helped their chances of securing a Europa League spot, although they’re still outsiders.
The East Londoners are the 10/11 odds-on favourites to win here, while Burnley are 16/5 to claim three points. If you fancy the points to be shared, that’s 12/5.
Sean Dyche’s Burnley romped to a 3-0 win at Turf Moor in November, and a repeat score line is a huge 60/1 tonight.
For the Hammers, it’s Andriy Yarmolenko who’s the favourite to score first at 9/2, or 15/8 to score anytime. Chris Wood is back for Burnley, and he’s 9/2 to score first, and can be found at 2/1 anytime.
West Ham will be without Robert Snodgrass through injury, while Sébastien Haller and Felipe Anderson are doubts too. Burnley will be missing Jack Cork, Ashley Barnes and Ben Gibson, while the game could come too soon for Ben Mee and Matthew Lowton to return.
With the Premier League title already sealed for Liverpool, they’ll have their eyes firmly set on securing a record points tally. They need four wins from their remaining five matches to beat Manchester City’s current record of 100.
As for Brighton, a tetchy 1-0 win over bottom side Norwich City means they’re now nine points above the bottom three. They can taste Premier League safety, and a shock win over the champions would all but secure it.
It’s no surprise Liverpool are the odds-on 4/7 favourites, but we’ve got Brighton at 5/1. The draw can be found at 3/1.
The Reds won the reverse fixture 2-1 despite a late red card for goalkeeper Alisson. That was thanks to a Virgil van Dijk brace. You can find 80/1 on a repeat performance from the centre back on his 29th birthday.
Seagulls striker Neal Maupay is 6/1 favourite to score first for the South coast side. He’s 23/10 anytime. Glenn Murray is a 13/5 pick to score anytime. For Liverpool, Mohamed Salah is still in the race for the Golden Boot. He’s 3/1 to score first, or 11/10 anytime. We’ve got Sadio Mane at 7/5 anytime too.
Neither side have too many injuries to contend with, as Brighton will only be without José Izquierdo while Steven Alzate will be assessed. Liverpool will be without Joel Matip, while James Milner and Dejan Lovren will undergo late fitness tests.
