Crystal Palace v Aston Villa – Home win
Palace have won two of the last four head-to-heads with Villa (lost once), including the reverse away fixture 1-0 on Boxing Day. The Eagles have victories to nil in their last two league games and look to all but confirm their top flight status by beating Paul Lambert’s side here.

Fulham v Norwich City – Home win
The two teams have faced each other three times already this season, with Fulham winning two of them – the other was a draw. Felix Magath now has two victories in his last four and looks to mastermind the Cottagers out of the relegation zone.

Southampton v Cardiff City – Home win
Relegation looms for Cardiff, who are now six points from safety with five games to go, and are in terrible form, having won just one of their last 10 games in all competitions. The Saints have been inconsistent of late, but should be able to get a victory at home.

Stoke City v Newcastle United – Home win
Formidable at home, the Potters have picked up 30 of their 40 points at the Britannia Stadium this term and Newcastle have failed to score in 11 of their last 15 league games. Although striker Loic Remy is back in training, he will not be risked, so current form suggests this could be a home win.

Sunderland v Everton – Away win
Sunderland have surprisingly won the last two battles with Everton, but the Toffees are in too greater form to let that stat bother them. They are on a run of six successive victories in the league and can jump into fourth place by beating bottom side Sunderland here.

West Brom v Tottenham – Draw
West Brom have not beaten Tottenham in their last eight attempts, but four of the two sides’ previous seven head-to-heads have ended in draws. Pepe Mel’s men are now five points from safety, following their recent win over Norwich, and will be in confident mood against Spurs at home.

Burnley v Middlesbrough – Home win
The Clarets may have a poor recent record against Boro, but only promoted and champions-elect Leicester City have picked up more home points than them in the second-tier. Sean Dyche was boosted by the return of top-scorer Danny Ings in midweek, so hosts Burnley will carry a real threat here.

Sheffield Wednesday v Blackburn – Away win
The Owls have no win in three, while Rovers are unbeaten in as many matches on the road. Leon Best cannot play against his parent club, and that somewhat blunt the hosts’ attack. Blackburn, meanwhile, have prolific scorer Jordan Rhodes forming a decent partnership with Rudy Gestede.

Wigan Athletic v Arsenal – Arsenal reach FA Cup final
Uwe Rosler left the directors’ box at Goodison Park with a satisfied smile. Having witnessed Arsenal succumb to Everton 3-0, he will take plenty of positives into this match. Last years’ winners will throw everything at the Gunners, however Arsene Wenger is the closest to winning silverware that he has been for almost 10 years. Put simply, Arsenal are too strong and should progress.

St Johnstone v Aberdeen – Away win
The Dons have beaten St Johnstone in three of the four meetings this season, while the other was 0-0. Derek McInnes can be confident of a fourth victory here, because the hosts have failed to score against his team this term.

Liverpool v Manchester City – Draw
Manuel Pellegrini knows City need to win to boost their title hopes, and will move to one point behind Liverpool with two matches in hand. The Reds, under Brendan Rodgers, have adopted a ‘never say die’ approach and last lost 15 games ago. With City unbeaten on the road in 10, this fixture has all the hallmarks of a draw.

Swansea City v Chelsea – Away win
The Blues will be revitalised after a terrific victory over PSG in midweek. Jose Mourinho will secretly know Chelsea can win the double, despite projecting a demeanour that indicates otherwise. Swansea have recorded just one win from their last eight games, and are on a downward spiral.

Hull City v Sheffield United – Hull reach FA Cup final
There are two leagues separating these two teams, though history has proved that this can be irrelevant. The Blades haven won just one in four coming into this one, though motivation for this tie shouldn’t be a problem. Hull will know that realistically they have a great chance to win the competition, and are odds-on to make the final.

Udinese v Juventus – Away win
Antonio Conte’s Old Lady are on a run of four straight wins against Udinese. A common theme in that superb recent record has been strikers scoring. Mirko Vucinic and Fernando Llorente have netted when facing Udinese before, so expect them or Serie A top scorer Carlos Tevez to do so here.

Reading v Leicester City – Draw
Both sides come into this one off the back of midweek defeats. Leicester still have the title to play for, and Reading are still far from sure of a play-off place. Nigel Adkins’ Royals have recorded more home draws than any other side in the top half of the Championship, so that looks the most likely outcome.
