Philip Hammond subject to gamble to be next Prime Minister
Published:Philip Hammond has been subject to a huge gamble this afternoon with leading bookmaker Coral to become the next Prime Minister where his odds have been slashed in half into 7-2 (from 7-1) on the back of the support. Jeremy Corbyn remains the 2-1 favourite to be the next leader of the country, while David Davis is 4-1.
“It appears punters think there is something in the rumours that Philip Hammond is being lined up to replace Theresa May by Conservative ministers as we have been a flurry of bets for the Chancellor to become the next Prime Minister where his odds have collapse following the sustained support,” said Coral’s John Hill.
