Friday’s match kicks off at 10pm and is live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.

Peru v Paraguay match odds

Peru’s form at the Copa America has been more impressive than that of Paraguay but they head into the game as 21/10 underdogs for victory in 90 minutes.

They faced a daunting start to the tournament against holders and hosts Brazil and suffered a 4-0 thrashing but they have recovered well.

A 2-1 victory over Colombia got their campaign up and running before they came from 2-0 down at half-time to rescue a 2-2 draw with Ecuador.

Andre Carillo then scored the only goal just after half-time as a 1-0 win against Venezuela saw them end the group stage on a high.

Paraguay began with a 3-1 victory over Bolivia while a 2-0 win against Chile – featuring a penalty from Newcastle’s Miguel Almiron (pictured) – was sandwiched by 1-0 defeats at the hands of Argentina and Uruguay, who both finished ahead of them in Group A.

They are 31/20 to win in 90 minutes here while a Paraguay win and both teams to score is available at 5/1.

Peru v Paraguay head-to-head

The teams met in World Cup qualifying in October and shared a 2-2 draw after an entertaining second half.

Carillo broke the deadlock for Peru seven minutes into the second half but Angel Romero levelled for the hosts and looked to have won it in the 81st minute, only for Carillo to equalise soon after.

Both teams to score again is 11/10 while the draw is 2/1 and a score draw can be added to Peru v Paraguay betting tips at 17/5.

Peru had previously dominated this fixture, though, winning six successive meetings before having to settle for a share of the points in October.

Previous XI

Paraguay: Silva, Rojas, Alderete, Alonso, Espinola, Gimenez, Almiron, Villasanti, Avalos, Romero, Samudio.

Key battles

Lionel Messi is the only player to have scored more than two goals during the group stage but Peru and Paraguay both have a player in contention for the golden boot.

Romero bagged a second-half double in Paraguay’s victory over Bolivia and, having also netted twice against Peru in October, he is 14/5 to find the net again.

Former Watford loanee Carillo has scored in Peru’s last two matches and is an interesting option for Peru v Paraguay betting tips at 17/2 to score first.
