Panthers popular with punters ahead of Super Bowl 50

The Carolina Panthers have been very popular this week with leading bookmaker Coral in the lead up to Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco in which the NFC Champions are 2-5 favourites to win their first ever league championship. After coming into the 2015/16 campaign on the back of a losing record, the Panthers were as big as 66-1 before the regular season got underway and could be backed ahead of the play-offs at 9-2.

AFC Champions Denver go into the game at the Levi’s Stadium as the 19-10 underdogs and can be backed on the point spread at 10-11 with a five point start.

In the Super Bowl MVP market, Cam Newton is the 8-11 favourite to win the award, while Peyton Manning, who could be set for his final appearance in the NFL, is 4-1 to receive the trophy.

“It’s one way traffic for Carolina in the money line market as the majority of punters feel Cam is going to lead his side to their first ever Super Bowl success,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“You really do have to applaud those punters who took the 66-1 on the Panthers before the regular season as they have a nice voucher in their pocket going into Sunday’s game,” added Hill.
