Preview and odds for the cinch Championships singles final

There is British involvement in the final of the cinch Championships today as we look at some potential Queen’s Club betting tips.

Cameron Norrie is one match away from claiming a first ATP title after a 7-5 6-3 semi-final victory over Canadian second seed Denis Shapovalov.

The only other Brits to reach the Queen’s final in the last 40 years are Tim Henman and Andy Murray and the Scot remains the only one to lift the title since the Second World War.

World number 14 Shapovalov was powerless to stop Norrie claiming another notable scalp in what has been a stunning season so far. He has now won 29 matches this year, more than any other player on the Tour except for Russia’s Andrey Rublev.

Norrie is 12/5 to win the final where standing in his way will be top seed Matteo Berrettini, the big-serving world number nine who accounted for Murray and Dan Evans this week.

The Italian has yet to drop a set on his Queen’s debut and has won his last 30 service games, having swept aside Australian Alex De Minaur 6-4 6-4 in the first semi-final.

Matteo Berrettini

Berrettini is the 2/7 favourite and 3/4 to win in straight sets while the match is 17/10 to go to a decider.

“I’ve watched him throughout the week, he has a huge serve, he’s one of the best players on the tour at the moment,” said Norrie, who is 19/20 to win at least one set.

“I might have a chat with Evo and Andy and see if they have any tips. I saw him play earlier today and he had a really good day. It’s not going to be easy.”

Watson misses out in Birmingham

There is no home involvement at the Viking Classic in Birmingham, though, after British number two Heather Watson was beaten in straight sets by second seed Ons Jabeur in the semi-finals.

Jabeur, who earlier beat Anastasia Potapova in her quarter-final, will now face Russian fourth seed Daria Kasatkina in the final.

Kasatkina overcame world number 203 Coco Vandeweghe of the United States in her semi-final 6-2 6-4.

Today’s tennis odds suggest a close match, with Jabeur 4/6 for the title and Kasatkina available at 11/10 while 29/20 is on offer for the match to go to three sets.
