Coral see interest in Fury v Joshua clash
Will the heavyweight unification bout take place this year?
We’ve seen a significant number of bets placed on the potential clash between British heavyweight boxers Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Our traders make Fury the 1/2 favourite, with Joshua available at 13/8.
While both boxers have other fights lined up before the year’s end, Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has suggested that the coronavirus outbreak could lead to a shift in priorities.
If Joshua’s fight against Kubrat Pulev is delayed beyond the summer, Hearn suggested a fight against ‘The Gypsy King’ would become a more attractive immediate proposition.
“This is a clash that punters are convinced is going to happen. The fact we have seen so many bets already, without a date being fixed for the bout shows how popular this is going to be,” said Coral’s John Hill.
“Over 70% of the bets we have taken so far have been for Fury, but that is no surprise after his success against Deontay Wilder recently,” added Hill.
“We expect the spread of bets to be much closer come the day of the fight, as both men are sure to have lots of supporters backing their boxer,” concluded Hill.
