Red Devils 5/4 to seal top-four finish

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is as short as 1/8 to be Manchester United manager on the first day of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

The move comes with reports emerging that he could be confirmed permanently as early as this week.

The former United player went favourite (at 6/4) in Coral’s betting in January, after becoming the first man to win his first six matches in charge with victory over Tottenham.

He then went odds-on (at 7/10) at the beginning of February and has been shortening ever since.

“Despite a couple of bad results more recently, it is still been an unbelievable run for Ole since he took over as manager. Expectations were very low and we had originally made Pochettino the favourite to be in the dugout next season, but he went odds on to land the gig permanently about six weeks ago and hasn’t looked back since,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

United are currently 5/4 to finish in the top four this season and can be backed at 16/1 to win the Champions League.

“They still have it all to play for as we hurtle towards the end of the season and at the moment we have United are narrow outsiders behind Arsenal in the battle for fourth. At 16-1 they remain in the mix for the Champions League however, and will be hoping to repeat their heroics from Paris when they face Messi and co,” added Aitkenhead.
