Odds cut on Expert Eye for 2,000 Guineas victory this weekend

Can Atzeni ride three-year-old to victory?
Following a run of bets, Coral’s trading floor have trimmed odds on Expert Eye winning Saturday’s 2,000 Guineas.
Andrea Atzeni rode the horse to victory in last year’s Qatar Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, and is in the saddle again at Newmarket. It’s now 10/1 for Expert Eye to claim victory, down from 12/1.
Gustav Klimt is the 2/1 favourite, having seen his odds narrowly trimmed from 9/4. Next in the betting is 9/2 shot Masar, with the in-form Saxon Warrior at 5/1.
Trainer Aiden O’Brien has two of the three frontrunners in that race, as well as likely challengers in the 1,000 Guineas and Kentucky Derby this weekend.
The Irishman is 14/1 for an unprecedented treble of victories across those races, while he’s 5/2 to come away empty-handed.
Coral’s David Stevens said: “Expert Eye reportedly earned his place in the Guineas line up with an encouraging piece of work at home on Sunday, and punters have reacted positively to this news following his rather disappointing Greenham Stakes defeat.”
