O’Brien Thirteen head European challenge for Breeders Cup 2016

Aidan O’Brien has an entered a thirteen strong team for the Breeders Cup and expects to take at least twelve of them to Santa Anita next week in arguably his strongest ever challenge for the Breeders Cup.

O’Brien two year olds dominate Coral’s betting for the two Juvenile Turf races, with Intelligence Cross and Lancaster Bomber 4/1 favourite and 5/1 second favourite respectively for the Juvenile Turf, and Roly Poly and Hydrangena 5/1 favourite and 6/1 third favourite respectively for the Juvenile Fillies Turf (Promise Be You likely to run in France).

O’Brien then has the 5/2 second favourite for the Breeders Cup Turf in Highland Reel, the 11/2 second favourite for the Turf Sprint with Washington DC, the 7-2 second favourite for the Filly & Mare Turf with Seventh Heaven and the 11-2 third favourite for the Mile with Alice Springs. Found will bring down the meeting with an audacious bid for the Coolmore team in the Breeders Cup Classic for which she is 14/1.

Coral today opened betting on how many Breeders Cup winners Aidan O’Brien would train over the two days and make one winner the 6/4 favourite, with three or more 13/2.

“Aidan O’Brien is heading to California with his strongest ever Breeders Cup raiding party and the fact that we are only offering 13/2 about him training three or more winners is clear evidence of that”, said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.

“O’Brien is just three winners away from equalling Bobby Frankel’s world record of twenty five Grade One victories in a calendar year, and it would be a brilliant story if he could achieve that next weekend at America’s most prestigious race meeting,” added Clare.

Limato has been installed as the 9/4 joint favourite with Tepin for the Breeders Cup Mile, and Joseph O’Brien will head to his first ever Breeders Cup as a trainer with the 4/1 joint favourite for the Juvenile Fillies Turf, Intricately.

With a host of other European trained entries to complement the strong O’Brien challenge, Coral has opened betting on the number of European trained winners and has two winners at 2/1 and three winners at 2/1, sharing favouritism.
