Prize Money has plenty going for him in November Handicap
Prize Money looks decent each-way value in a typically wide-open and competitive renewal of the November Handicap at Doncaster (15.35).
The Saeed bin Suroor trained gelding has posted some really solid efforts this season without getting his head in front, including when runner-up to Hawkbill in the Group 3 Tercentenary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Prize Money stuck to the task well to go down by just 1 1/4 lengths and the winner is a very smart sort who has since gone on to land the Group 1 Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.
That gives the form a solid look and the selection also ran better than the bare result suggests last time out when fifth of nine to Ulysses in the Group 2 Gordon Stakes at Goodwood.
After taking a keen hold and racing up with the pace, the three-year-old led at the furlong marker until weakening close home to be beaten 2 1/2 lengths.
Potentially well-treated now dropped in class
Prize Money now drops back into handicap company and the form of those races suggest his current mark of 107 is exploitable.
The son of Authorised also remains lightly-raced and open to further improvement after just six starts and connections have shrewdly booked promising apprentice George Wood to do the steering.
Wood is terrific value for his 5lb claim and taking into it account Prize Money looks weighted to run a huge race on the pick of his form, especially if the fitting of the hood for the first time has the desired effect and enables him to settle better in the early stages of the contest.
Other pluses are that the stable is also in cracking form, having saddled six winners from its last 12 runners and Prize Money’s owners Godolphin have a decent record with their runners in valuable handicaps.
