Norwich nick point off Everton in Premier League

Bright Toffees start
Without a doubt a game of two halves in the Premier League lunchtime kick-off at Carrow Road and Everton will be aggrieved not to have come away with three points.
It was the away side who started brightly looking constantly threatening on the counter-attack with Gerard Deulofeu a constant menace, almost carrying the ball the length of the field to finish himself.
At the other end, the Toffees were standing firm under pressure from Cameron Jerome, though John Stones was assured and confident, often ushering any danger away.
Lively Lukaku
With the visitors, 11/10 with Coral to beat Leicester next time, starting to apply more pressure, the Canaries’ wings finally clipped. When the hosts failed to clear a Leighton Baines corner into the area, Deulofeu dinked the ball back in where Lukaku lurched forward to head into the the net.
Following this, Norwich crumbled. It was almost fire at will on the hosts’ goal and by half time Lukaku could and perhaps should have had six goals to hi tally, while Baines was unlucky to crash onto the frame of the goal with a right foot volley.
It was no doubt a relief when the whistle blew at the interval for the East Anglian outfit who could were lucky to just be a goal down.
Rapid response
Whatever manager Alex Neil said at half time worked wonders. Having brought on defender Ryan Bennet to add more grit and experience, he pounced on a corner for Wesley Hoolahan to lash into the net just after the restart.
While Everton were clearly stunned, they tried to muster a response, though the Canaries looked far more organised at the back.
As the game wore on, both teams pushed for a winner, though there was no let-up in the end as the match fizzled out.
