Nicky Henderson now 1-2 to regain Trainers’ title

Published:

Nicky Henderson is 1-2 favourite with Coral to regain the National Hunt trainers’ championship he last won in 2013, with closest rival and reigning title holder Paul Nicholls eased to 6-4, having been 1-6 favourite prior to last week’s Cheltenham Festival.

“Although it was the Irish trio of Elliott, Mullins and Harrington who grabbed many of the headlines last week with 15 winners between them, as far as the domestic situation was concerned, Nicky Henderson was the big winner, and he’s replaced Paul Nicholls as favourite to win the trainers’ championship, after just a Foxhunters’ victory for the latter saw him overtaken in the standings,” said Coral’s David Stevens.

“However, there is still plenty of prize money up for grabs at Aintree, Ayr and Sandown, and even though we’re happy to be top price about the reigning champion right now, this race is far from over,” added Stevens.
