NFL Week 5: Bills bid to stay top & Miami need post-Wembley win

Buffalo currently leading AFC East table

We’re four weeks in, and the divisional tables are starting to take shape in NFL 2017. Kansas City Chiefs are the only unbeaten side, but they’re far from the only ones to impress.

Buffalo Bills are one of several sides who’ve enjoyed eye-catching starts. They top the AFC East after another impressive win last weekend.

Elsewhere, Miami Dolphins have the chance to recover following their dismal Wembley display against a hit-and-miss Tennessee Titans side. They’re among the major Week 5 storylines, as the Coral News Team look ahead…

Can Bills retain top spot with Bengals test?

Last term the Bills endured a 7-9 record, finishing third in the division below New England Patriots and the Dolphins. However, they’ve started this season in strong fashion, with a solid defence the backbone of that success.

Buffalo have shipped just 54 points over the course of four games. That gives them the best defensive record in the entire NFL so far. Having already beaten 2016 Super Bowl finalists Atlanta Falcons and breezed past a strong Denver Broncos outfit, the early signs suggest they’re the real deal.

They head to face Cincinnati Bengals this weekend, and the stats point to another Bills victory. The Ohio franchise have lost both home games, including a 20-0 defeat to Baltimore Ravens. That means the 29/20 on Money Line: Buffalo Bills looks to be a real value bet.

Miami must recover from Wembley woes

Despite having been considered favourites to beat New Orleans Saints at Wembley last weekend, the Dolphins slumped to a 20-0 defeat. Beyond some pressure in the First Quarter, Jay Cutler and co. barely threatened to produce so much as a field goal attempt.

However, they have a chance to improve morale against an extremely leaky Tennessee Titans side this weekend. The Titans gave up a huge 57 points in Houston in their last game. Despite winning a couple of games before that, they’re certainly susceptible to a defensive collapse.

The question is whether Miami will take advantage, or if the Dolphins offense can be kept very quiet once again.

Pack well-priced to continue dominance of Dallas

Green Bay Packers’ 34-31 victory at Dallas Cowboys in January was their latest in a string of impressive results in this fixture. It gave the Pack a sixth victory in seven meetings, and the third of those where they’d bagged 30+ points.

The Cowboys are 2-2 so far, with a 35-30 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams last time out. That means the Packers are the form team heading into this game, following successive wins over the Bengals and Chicago Bears.

This looks a slightly tougher ask for Mike McCarthy’s side, but with such a strong record in this fixture, Green Bay -2.0 looks a smart bet at 29/20.
