Odds and in-depth look at the Gridiron action

Week two of NFL 2018 produced a thrilling tie between Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, as well as plenty of other big talking points.

The gridiron continues this weekend, with a raft of top games – including a heavyweight AFC South clash in Jacksonville. Ahead of play, the Coral News Team are back with the odds and talking points…

Can Bengals show they’re the real deal at Carolina?

It’s all smiles for Cincinnati Bengals right now. They’re the only side in the AFC North with a 100% record ahead of week three, following a pair of 34-23 wins – over Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens.

However, after losing seasons in each of the last two years, Sunday’s visit to Carolina is a good litmus test of whether the Bengals are serious playoff contenders.

Carolina Panthers’ home and away form is night and day. They’ve won the last six at home, so this is a big test for the Bengals’ impressive offence. Quarterback Andy Dalton has already thrown for an impressive six touchdowns in the first two games.

Cincinnati are 13/10 in the Money Line. Both sides are likely to rack up the points, and Over 43.5 Total Points is a 10/11 shot.

Mack and co. to breeze past struggling Cardinals

There’s hitting the ground running, and then there’s what Khalil Mack has done at Chicago Bears so far.

The 27-year-old has already managed a strip sack in both of his first two Bears outings – against Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. He’s also made a raft of crucial tackles and racked up an interception in the first two game-weeks.

Having looked strong against both the Pack and Seahawks, Mack and co. could produce a morale-boosting shutout against Arizona Cardinals this weekend.

Steve Wilks’ side have managed a dismal six points across the first two games, and should be easy prey for a bruising Bears defence.

Improving Jags must end their Titans hoodoo

Jacksonville Jaguars have turned heads in the opening weeks, following up a steely victory at New York Giants with a 31-20 defeat of New England Patriots. That result marked the Pats heaviest regular season loss in over a year.

But the Jags will have to overcome their poor record against AFC South rivals Tennessee Titans this weekend if they’re to maintain their impressive start.

Doug Marrone’s side have lost four of the last five head-to-heads, including a humbling 37-16 home defeat back in September 2017.

However, Jacksonville are really clicking right now – thanks in large part to outstanding wide receiver Keelan Cole and tricky running back T.J. Yeldon.

With the Titans losing in Miami on their last road game, this seems an ideal time for Jacksonville to end their poor record in this rivalry.
