We cover the big issues and odds for the weekend

It’s closing in on make-or-break time in the NFL, as we head into Week 12. With every playoff spot still up for grabs, it promises to be a nailbiting period of glory and despair.

Amongst the weekend’s big clashes are a potential banana skin for Pittsburgh Steelers in Colorado, and an NFC East grudge match. We cover all that below…

Sack kings Denver looking to silence in-form Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers are currently on a six-game winning streak. But Mike Tomlin’s men won’t fancy a trip to face a Denver Broncos side who have bagged victory in five of the last seven head-to-heads.

The Steelers have been strong offensively in 2018, but could struggle to protect Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger at Mile High Stadium.

The veteran QB is no longer the quickest, and faces a Denver defence which includes two of the top 10 sack-makers this season. Between them, Von Miller and Bradley Chubb have been involved in a whopping 73 sacks.

As for Pittsburgh’s rushing game, the usually reliable James Conner was dismal against Jacksonville Jaguars last time out, averaging 2.8 yards.

It’s 7/5 for a Broncos victory, while they’re 17/20 to Score Over 21 points for the fourth game in five.

Can Cowboys sweep to top spot in NFC East cracker?

Change could be afoot in the NFC East this weekend, with Dallas Cowboys bidding to knock Washington Redskins off top spot – which they’ve held virtually all season.

As it stands, the Redskins (6-4) have the edge over Dallas (5-5) in the standings. But the momentum seems to be with the team from the Lone Star State.

They’ve beaten Super Bowl holders Philadelphia Eagles and 2017 Finalists Atlanta Falcons in the last two games.

They now face a Redskins side beginning to lose steam offensively. They’ve not posted over 23 points since way back in Week Three.

The pair’s switch in momentum is reflected in the odds. Dallas are 2/7 in the Money Line. Two of their five triumphs this season have come by exactly seven points, and Winning Margin: Dallas by 7-12 points is 7/2.

Low-scoring Cardinals could be set for a pasting in L.A.

Spare a thought for Arizona Cardinals fans. Their side have scored the second-fewest points in the NFL this season. And they could have another difficult day against a Los Angeles Chargers side on course for at least a Wild Card spot.

Steve Wilks’ side have only scored 20+ points twice this season, and haven’t hit the 30-point mark in any of their last 20 games.

They visit a Chargers side who are currently 7-3, and boast the services of ace Running Back Melvin Gordon, who is on seven Touchdowns this term.

This should be a comfortable home win. It’s 4/7 for LA Chargers -8.0, while the AFC West’s top defence are 13/10 to limit Arizona to under 14 points.
