Payton’s men travel to Buffalo this weekend

Sides across the NFL are now into the final seven-game push of the regular season. While it’s realistically last chance saloon for a number of sides, the likes of Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints already have one foot in the playoffs…

The Coral News Team are back for their look at the NFL’s major talking points ahead of Week 10. That begins with a look at the New Orleans revival.

Are Sean Payton’s Saints the real deal?

After three 7-9 seasons in succession, New Orleans Saints appeared to be heading for another disappointing campaign this year. Despite some impressive offseason signings, they began the 2017 season with successive defeats, shipping 65 points in the process.

However, everything changed from week three onwards. They’ve managed six successive victories, including a 20-0 defeat of Miami Dolphins, and a 52-38 victory over Detroit Lions. That marked the most points the Michigan side had given up in a game in over a decade.

Their next assignment is a trip to face Buffalo Bills this weekend, as the Saints look to continue their longest winning streak since 2011. For the Bills’ part, they’re unbeaten at home this season.

However, something has to give – and following the hosts’ 21-34 defeat to New York Jets last weekend, it looks likely to be the Bills’ home record. The Coral News Team like the NO Saints -4.0 handicap at 13/10.

Texans’ visit to L.A. will be one for the neutrals

Despite being third in the AFC South, Houston Texans have scored the second-most points in the entire conference. This Sunday they visit a Los Angeles Rams side who have scored a combined 111 points in their previous three games.

The Rams have fared well in the first season since their relocation from St. Louis. Currently on a three-game winning streak, they boast the hugely in-form Todd Gurley in their ranks. The young Running Back has rushed for seven Touchdowns this season, including two away at New York Giants last weekend.

With the Texans defence as bad as their offence is good, the Rams are likely to see off their opponents at The Coliseum.

Over 45.5 Total Points between the sides looks a safe bet at 10/11. However, the Coral News Team think LA Rams: Over 37.5 Points looks the one to back at 19/4.

Bears can salvage season and heap woes on Pack

Green Bay Packers have had the better of their NFC North rivals Chicago Bears in recent years, winning 13 of the 15 Head-to-Heads since the start of 2011. But the Pack are unlikely to take anything at Soldier Field on this visit.

While Cheeseheads have had slightly more to boast about this season, with a 4-4 record (to the Bears’ 3-5), injury to Aaron Rodgers in Week 6 has left the Green Bay offence toothless. They’ve lost three games on the spin, including a humbling defeat to Detroit at Lambeau Field on Monday night.

With that in mind, it’s the Bears who look to have the better chance of sneaking a Wild Card place this season. It was the defence who won their last home game, limiting Carolina Panthers to a single field goal in a comprehensive 17-3 victory.

The odds also have Chicago down as firm favourites in the Money Line at 2/5. But with the Packers in disarray without Rodgers, the CHI Bears -5.0 handicap looks a smart bet at 17/20.
