Odds and preview ahead of this weekend’s NFL matchups
We may not have had any Thursday Night Football to enjoy this week, but Pittsburgh Steelers maintained their perfect record on Wednesday night.
After having their fixture with Baltimore Ravens postponed three times, the Steelers finally got the job done on the pitch with a narrow 19-14 win at Heinz Field sealing their 11-0 record.
This week, we’ve got another 12 fixtures to enjoy on Sunday night, starting with the battle of the 8-3 records, as Cleveland Browns head to Tennessee to take on the Titans before Pittsburgh defend their unbeaten record against Washington Football team on Monday evening.
New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs and the Steelers can seal their playoff spots with wins against Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos and Washington respectively. Ahead of this weekend’s action, we’ve previewed our pick of week 13’s fixtures.
Cleveland Browns @ Tennessee Titans (Sun 18:00)
Browns and Titans have two of the best running backs in the league, so this could be an exciting clash on the turf between two teams with a reliance on their running game.
Titans’ Derrick Henry ran 178 yards for three TD’s against the Colts, putting up over 100 rushing yards in four of his last five.
Browns RB Nick Chubb has been almost as hot as Henry over the last few weeks, with 19 rushes for 144 yards and a TD against the Jaguars, running over 100 rushing yards in five of his last seven.
It’s Tennessee who are 4/11 favourites on the Money Line, with Cleveland 11/5 to end their night with a 9-3 record.
The Titans blew the Browns out of the water in their last meeting, winning 43-13 in September 2019. Fancy Tennessee to win by 25-30 points again? That’s 14/1.
With Henry in the form of his life, he’s the 7/2 favourite to score first, or there’s 333/1000 on him anytime, while you can find 6/1 on Chubb opening the scoring, or 1/2 on him maintaining his scintillating form with a TD anytime.
New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (Sun 18:00)
No Drew Brees for the Saints? No problem so far as they’ve stretched their season record to 9-2, with a win in Atlanta enough to secure a spot in the playoffs.
They’ve adapted their game to alleviate the pressure on stand-in QB Taysom Hill, giving more responsibility to the running game, and that paid dividends against the Broncos as their rush offense picked up 229 yards from 44 rushes, scoring four TD’s.
Hill could face a tougher task this week, with the Falcons defence stepping up to grab five takeaways from Raiders QB Derek Carr last weekend, forcing four fumbles, grabbing one interception and not allowing a TD pass.
New Orleans are 13/20 favourites on the Money Line to seal their playoff berth, but after last weekend’s 43-6 thrashing of the Raiders, Falcons are 13/10 to win.
Saints RB Latavius Murray contributed heavily to New Orleans scoring last week, grabbing two TD’s. He’s 9/5 to score anytime, while there’s 12/1 on him scoring another brace.
Both sides have relied on their defence to help them win in recent weeks, which could keep the scores low. Saints came out on top 24-9 back in November, and there’s 19/10 on under 37.5 points in the match again here.
New York Giants @ Seattle Seahawks (Sun 21:05)
It’s all starting to click for Joe Judge’s G-Men, but they’ll face their toughest opponent in this three-match winning streak as the NFC East leaders take on NFC West leaders Seattle Seahawks.
Giants will need to pay attention to DK Metcalf if they’re to stop a Seahawks rout, with the WR picking up a league-leading 1,039 yards for nine TD’s off 58 receptions so far this season.
New York could lead with Colt McCoy at QB if Daniel Jones isn’t ready to play after he narrowly avoided a serious hamstring strain against the Bengals. But just how much will his potential absence hamper the Giants momentum?
Seahawks are odds-on 2/11 favourites on the Money Line, with the Giants 4/1 to claim a win.
It’s the first time in three years the pair have faced each other, with Seattle grabbing a 24-7 win in 2017. Fancy another convincing Seahawks win? They’re 29/20 to win on a -15 spread.
Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have been prolific for the Seahawks so far this season. It’s Metcalf who’s the 15/4 favourite to score first, with Lockett 4/1. Fancy them anytime? Metcalf can be found at 111/250, while Lockett is 533/1000.
Giants are still without their star RB Saquon Barkley, but Wayne Gallman is filling in just nicely recently. He grabbed a TD against the Bengals last week, and he’s 11/10 anytime here.
Denver Broncos @ Kansas City Chiefs (Mon 01:20)
Is it really any surprise to see that Kansas City Chiefs boast the best offense in the league, as well as the best passing game in the league? When you look at their star-studded roster, it’s inevitable.
Patrick Mahomes has come into his own in recent weeks and appears to be running away in the race for league MVP. He’s got another chance to put the Broncos to the sword here.
The Chiefs threw for 456 yards last weekend, while the Broncos completed just one pass throughout their entire matchup with the Saints. Tyreek Hill led the Chiefs in receiving yards, picking up 269 yards, while Noah Fant led the Broncos with just 13 yards.
The difference between the two couldn’t be more obvious, and the Chiefs are odds-on 1/11 favourites on the Money Line, with Denver 7/1 to cause a shock on the road.
A win for the Chiefs would be enough to see them into the playoffs, one step closer to defending the title they won last year. They’ll be looking to do it in style so we could witness a blowout here. Could the Chiefs win by 43-48 points? That’s 25/1 with us.
Washington Football Team @ Pittsburgh Steelers (Mon 22:00)
Steelers just keep winning, and their record now stands at 11-0. They couldn’t go the whole season unbeaten, could they? They impressed yet again as their defence ground out a narrow victory over Baltimore on Wednesday night.
If Washington have genuine ambitions to win the NFC East and reach the playoffs, this is the kind of game they need to make a statement in. And what better statement to make than giving the Steelers their first loss of the campaign?
T.J Watt was a major contributing factor to the Steelers win over the Ravens, with four tackles and two sacks. Watt has 27 solo tackles for the season, assisting eight more.
Pittsburgh are 2/9 favourites on the Money Line to extend their winning run to 12, while Washington are 7/2 to shock the Steelers.
