Preview and odds for the Championship games

There are only four teams remaining as we head into the Championship round of games and the teams that contest the Super Bowl will be decided as we view the odds to find some potential NFL betting tips.

Last weekend there was plenty of drama in the playoffs with all four games going right down to the wire and NFL fans will be hoping for two more thrillers this weekend.

Coverage of both of Sunday’s games is live and uninterrupted on Sky Sports from 7pm.

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are the 2/7 favourites to avenge their Round 17 loss to the Bengals and make the Super Bowl for the third year in a row in the AFC Championship game and they have home advantage having overcome the Buffalo Bills in one of the greatest NFL games ever seen last weekend.

They looked down and out, but Patrick Mahomes worked his magic to set up Harrison Butker for a field goal in the final seconds, before Travis Kelce’s overtime touchdown sealed the win.

If Mahomes has his throwing arm working then the 8/15 for Kansas to hit the first touchdown could pay dividend.

The Bengals are in the playoffs for the first time since 2015 and although the 11/4 underdogs are totally deserving of their spot at this stage of the competition, they are bidding to make their first Super Bowl since 1989.

Joe Burrow has established himself as one of the top five QBs in the league and will be relying heavily on receiver Ja’Marr Chase, who racked up an incredible 266 yards and three touchdowns against the Chiefs when they met in Cincinnati earlier this month.

Chase is 7/2 to score a touchdown in a Bengals victory, while he is 4/1 to be the visitors’ first points scorer.

It finished 34-31 when the pair met earlier this month and another high-scoring game is expected at Arrowhead Stadium in NFL betting tips. It is 8/5 for a 60.5+ game once again, while you can find evens for over 6.5 touchdowns.

San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams

The LA Rams will be desperate to follow in the footsteps of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and compete for the Super Bowl trophy on home soil next month. They are 2/1 to win the Super Bowl but first they need to overcome the 49ers, who made the NFL showpiece two seasons ago.

It was the Buccaneers who the Rams beat last weekend thanks to a field goal, which helped them fend off a Tom Brady-inspired fightback from the defending champs.

They are 4/7 favourites here and their progress is largely in thanks to wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who is arguably the best player in the league in that position and could prove hard to stop alongside Odell Beckham Jr, who has been revitalised by his mid-season switch to the Rams.

Kupp is having a record-breaking campaign in terms of most receiving yards in a season and is a 5/1 chance for both the first and last touchdown of the game, while he is again 5/1 for a hat-trick.

The 49ers have been underdogs for both of their playoff games so far and won’t worry at having to stare down that tag again as the 19/20 outsiders in NFL betting tips.

They beat the Dallas Cowboys 23-17 before edging the Green Bay Packers on the road last weekend, a strong defensive display the key to their last-gasp 13-10 victory.

Jimmy Garropolo has faced plenty of critics this year and will come under the microscope against the Rams ‘galactico’ style defence, but if he shines he could throw San Francisco to their second Super Bowl in three years.

There was little to separate the sides when they met earlier in the season with the game going all the way to overtime. The 49ers managed to extend their winning run over the Rams to six then thanks to a field goal, but it would be no surprise to see another close contest.

There have been under 52 points in the last four clashes between this pair and under that number is 4/9 while barring this season’s match-up the last three have barely gone over 40 points. Under that number is 13/8 in NFL betting tips, while the 49ers to record a shock win and under 40.5 points is 19/4.
