Is Anfield job in Aussie manager’s future?

There’s been a big shake-up in the dugouts of League Two. Harry Kewell has made the jump from Crawley Town to Notts County during the past 24 hours.

The Australian is continuing to learn the ropes in the lower leagues, and Coral’s latest odds suggest it’s not impossible that he eventually ends up at Anfield.

A Champions League winner with Liverpool as a player, it’s now 10/1 for Kewell to manage Liverpool anytime.

Coral’s John Hill said: “Harry Kewell has made a fantastic start to his managerial career and following his appointment at Notts County, he is being backed to manage his former club Liverpool one day.”

For now, Kewell’s focus will be on the situation at Meadow Lane.

The Magpies sit rock bottom of the EFL after five games, with one point and a -8 goal difference.

If he’s the man to turn them around this season, higher-level clubs will no doubt be taking notice.

Despite the bad start, promotion certainly isn’t impossible this season with County 4/1 to go up.

Their next game comes at home to Forest Green Rovers tomorrow, with 6/4 for a first league win of 2018-19.
