Non-league betting preview and odds

With the midweek Carabao Cup and Copa Del Rey action spread across three nights, our attention this evening turns to the National League.

There’s a full complement of games to enjoy from the top division of non-league football. And we’ve previewed five of them in our National League tips.

AFC Fylde v Gateshead

Leyton Orient and Salford City may be grabbing the headlines, but Fylde are going nicely too. Dave Challinor’s men won 6-0 at the weekend to take their unbeaten league run to eight matches.

They’ve got goals all through the side and should prove too strong for a Gateshead outfit which has faced just one team from the top-half of the table away from home so far.

Fylde are 17/20 outright and 15/8 to Win with Over 2.5 Goals in the match.

Barnet v Salford City

Barnet may have improved after a poor start but their record against the division’s top teams leaves a lot to be desired. Just one of their seven wins so far has come against a fellow top-half side.

That could leave the door open for Salford tonight at 31/20. The Ammies have won their last five matches on the road in all competitions, with Adam Rooney averaging a goal a game in that run.

They have the firepower to cause Barnet’s defence some serious problems tonight. You can back them to Win with Over 2.5 Goals in the match at 13/4.

Eastleigh v Leyton Orient

Orient are flying at the top of the National League. The O’s are the division’s joint top scorers and could enjoy themselves against an Eastleigh side who remain inconsistent at home.

The Spitfires have won just three times at Silverlake so far this term – failing to score more than a single goal in any of their eight matches on the South Coast.

We make Orient 11/10 to take all three points or 5/2 to Win to Nil.

Sutton United v Chesterfield

The acquisition of 6ft 7in forward Tom Denton is slowly improving Chesterfield’s fortunes, although tonight’s visit to Sutton will be tough for the Spireites.

Martin Allen’s men are winless on the road in the National League since early August, while the U’s have been consistent without setting the world alight at Gander Green Lane.

Both sides appear evenly matched, which could lead to the draw at 11/5. A 1-1 stalemate is priced at 11/2, with 2-2 a 14/1 shot.

Wrexham v Hartlepool United

Once upon a time this match would’ve played within the confines of League One. Now both sides are scrapping to make it back into the Football League after stints outside of the 92.

Our traders have Wrexham down as the 19/20 favourites here, against 3/1 for Hartlepool. And with good reason; the Red Dragons have been imperious at the Racecourse Ground this term.

Sam Ricketts’ men have won six from nine at home in all competitions, keeping clean sheets in seven matches. They’re 2/1 to Win to Nil or 5/1 to win 1-0 for a third straight home league game.
