More shocks in store at Newmarket

We’re opposing the Falmouth Stakes favourite
The first day of Newmarket’s July Festival is in the books. It wasn’t a pretty scene for favourite backers either, with a number of upsets, including Cardsharp’s success in the group two July Stakes at 8/1.
The lesson learned going into Friday is surely to cast your eyes further down the list and pick out a few at a price, in the hope of landing a big odds winner. We turn our attentions to day two, where seven legs get underway at 1.50pm with the Silver Bunbury Cup. Read on for our NAP of the day, as well as a selection in every race, or click to bet now.
Arabian Hope has been impressive so far
Plenty to keep punters occupied as the floodgates open for the weekend, but there’s no mistaking race of the day, with the Falmouth Stakes an obvious highlight. A tight seven-runner field battle it out over the one mile trip in this fillies’ group one, and traders at Coral HQ are pinning their hopes on Roly Poly, a 2/1 favourite at present.
A fair call, but having watched a number of the jollies get turned over on Thursday, we’re more than happy to oppose. The one to do it with is Arabian Hope. The three-year-old filly has been impressive so far this year, winning all three of her starts, stretching her CV to three from four. She was an uninspiring fourth around here on debut, but has come on leaps and bounds since.

Godolphin filly capable of stepping up in class
A win at Kempton in a maiden got the ball rolling, followed up with success at Chelmsford and, more recently, York. The latter was, by far, the most impressive result in that run, claiming a listed race over this trip four weeks ago. She went off at a big price that day, but those who had followed her progression wouldn’t have been surprised by the upset, scoring from Golden Stunner at 6/1.
Friday’s test does, of course, represent a real step up in class of opponent, but we make her ready for it, as do connections. The only slight worry would be how she takes to the drying ground, but there’s plenty to come from the Godolphin rep, and we should get more than a run for our money at Coral’s 5/1.
