Military March to miss Epsom Derby
Published:The joint second favourite has pulled out of the race
Military March will miss the Epsom Derby next weekend after withdrawing from the race.
The Godolphin horse finished fourth on his last run in the 2,000 Guineas and he was the 5/1 joint-second favourite for the Epsom Classic.
English King remains the 9/4 favourite (from 5/2) to triumph next weekend.
“Military March’s absence from the Investec Derby is a blow to Godolphin, and also to those punters who supported the colt to improve from his Guineas run,” said Coral’s David Stephens.
“As the 5/1 joint-second favourite, he was also one of the strongest market rivals to the favourite English King, with the Lingfield Trial winner getting ever shorter at the head of the betting.”
To win the Epsom Derby
English King 9/4, Kameko 5/1, Russian Emperor 8/1, Vatican City 9/1, Mogul 10/1, Pyledriver 14/1, First Receiver 16/1, Highest Ground 16/1, Santiago 16/1, Armory 20/1, Innisfree 20/1, Mohican Heights 20/1
