Charlie Hills tips: May Rose to bloom again

In the 5f handicap (17:20) is one of Coral tipsters’ best Windsor bets, with May Rose looking capable of defying a further rise in the weights to land the hat-trick.

Trained by Charlie Hills, this filly is among our tips because she opened her account over course and distance when winning eased down by a length and readily overcame a 6lb rise to follow-up at Wolverhampton.

May Rose was value for more than the winning margin of one length in the latter as she was slowly away and forced to make her more out very wide entering the home straight.

Although now 4lb higher in the weights, the daughter of Lawman is clearly in a a serious upward curve and a revised rating of 78 could well be on the lenient side.

Percy’s Romance poised to open account

Percy’s Romance has been knocking on the door of late and looks to hold leading claims of bagging a deserved first success in the 1m 3f handicap (16:20).

Sir Michael Stoute’s filly has finished runner-up in her last two starts and the form of the first of those when beaten two lengths by Baydar at Newmarket has worked out well.

The winner has gone on to score twice since and the third home Corpus Chorister, who was beaten five lengths by the selection, has since bolted up at Newbury.

Torch, who finished fourth, has also gone on to taste success and the from reads extremely well in the context of this class 5 contest.

With the stable in good form and Andrea Atzeni in the saddle, this looks a nice opening for Percy’s Romance to finally get her head in front.

Mister Blue Sky can cash-in on class drop

Another of our Windsor bets is Mister Blue Sky; a horse with a progressive profile that can capitalise on a drop in grade to land the 1m nursery (15:20).

The Sylvester Kirk trained colt opened his account at the third time of asking when storming clear to land a maiden at Nottingham by five lengths.

Mister Blue Sky backed that up with a cracking 1/2 length second to Monataire in a decent class 3 handicap at Ascot, which has thrown-up subsequent winners and also ran really well last time out when second to Harbour Master in a class 4 affair at Sandown.

The form of both those races sets a clear standard in this lower grade class 5 contest, and a reproduction of either run is going to make Mister Blue Sky tough to beat.
