Mark Hughes now 1/6 to be next Premier League boss to leave
Published:Stoke manager could be running out of time
Stoke City boss Mark Hughes is the clear favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his position, according to the latest Coral odds.
A run of five defeats in seven games has seen Stoke drop to 16th position, two points above the relegation zone. The Potters also have the worst defensive record in the division (47 goals conceded).
Hughes is under increasing pressure and he’s the hot favourite at 1/6 to be the next manager to go.
The former Manchester City manager rested several regular starters for Saturday’s 5-0 loss to Chelsea. That was followed by a poor display in the 1-0 defeat at home to Newcastle United on New Year’s Day.
Southampton’s Mauricio Pellegrino is second in the betting at a distant 5/1. Newcastle’s Rafa Benitez is third with big odds of 16/1.
Coral’s John Hill said: “It is difficult to see Mark Hughes surviving this difficult run as Stoke boss and that is reflected in the betting as he is now long odds-on to be the next manager to depart in the Premier League.”
1/6 Mark Hughes, 5/1 Mauricio Pollegrino, 16/1 Rafa Benitez, 20/1 Eddie Howe, 20/1 Marco Silva, 25/1 Alan Pardew, 33/1 Bar
