Manchester United v Leicester betting tips: United aim to keep City waiting
Published:Premier League preview and odds for Tuesday’s game
Manchester United return to Premier League action just two days after beating Aston Villa as they look to prolong the title race for at least another 48 hours.
Manchester City’s defeat by Chelsea and United’s comeback at Villa Park mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men can still mathematically catch their neighbours, with United 10 points behind with four games remaining.
Leicester need the points as they look to clinch a Champions League place, having slipped to fourth at the weekend after a surprise 4-2 home defeat against Newcastle.
Tuesday’s game, which kicks off at 6pm, is live on BT Sport and hopefully our match preview can help identify the best Manchester United v Leicester betting tips.
Manchester United v Leicester match odds
United once again fought back to beat Aston Villa on Sunday to secure another top-four finish and delay City’s coronation.
The Red Devils have now taken 19 points from their last seven matches and are 6/4 to continue their fine form with victory here.
This is the second of three Premier League matches in five days for United, though, and that schedule will give Leicester hope, with the Foxes 19/10 for the win and the draw 23/10.
United trailed to a Bertrand Traore goal at half-time on Sunday but came from behind to win for a 10th top-flight game – a competition record in a single campaign.
Manchester United v Leicester head-to-head
Leicester highlighted their credentials as a top-four team with a 2-2 draw against United on Boxing Day which kept them second in the table, one point ahead of the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford netted his 50th Premier League goal when he opened the scoring before Harvey Barnes struck Leicester’s first leveller.
Axel Tuanzebe’s late own goal then earned the Foxes a point after Bruno Fernandes’ strike looked to have given the visitors victory.
Leicester won the most recent meeting which was a 3-1 victory in the FA Cup quarter-finals in March and both teams to score again can be backed at 8/11 while over 3.5 goals for the third time this season is 12/5.
Previous XI
Manchester United: Henderson, Lindelof, Maguire, Shaw, Wan-Bissaka, Pogba, Fred, Fernandes, McTominay, Rashford, Greenwood.
Leicester: Schmeichel, Fofana, Soyuncu, Pereira, Castagne, Tielemans, Maddison, Albrighton, Ndidi, Vardy, Iheanacho.
Team news
Captain Harry Maguire looks set to miss his first Premier League match since joining Manchester United after suffering an ankle injury against Villa. Anthony Martial and Phil Jones remain sidelined while Daniel James has missed recent matches.
Leicester are likely to be without Jonny Evans after he limped out of the warm-up ahead of the Newcastle defeat. Harvey Barnes, James Justin (both knee) and Wes Morgan (back) are still out.
Key battles
Two of the in-form strikers in the Premier League could lead the lines for their respective teams. Kelechi Iheanacho had to wait until February for his Premier League goal of the season but now has 11 after his late consolation against Newcastle.
Edinson Cavani came off the bench for United at Villa Park and sealed the win late on with his eighth goal in his last seven outings in all competitions.
