Man Utd and Chelsea swapsies: Three is magic number
Published:Matt Haynes | December 26, 2015
With two giants of the English game set to go head to head, Coral take a look at which three players from either side this season would make it into each other’s sides.
Let’s not rock around the Christmas tree here (okay, beat around the bush…forgive us for trying to spread a little festive metaphor) neither of these sides have made shining examples this season so far, however, we would be fools not to recognise at least three stand out individuals from each team, with Chelsea 2/1 courtesy of Coral to win.
Chelsea
Willian
Only a grinch wouldn’t recognise his talents. The diminutive Brazilian has single handed pioneered his team’s Champions League charge this term, scoring important goals to boot. He would easily fit into the Red Devils’ XI.
John Terry
Despite his age, the former England centre half is still a commanding threat and knows how to get favourable results at both ends of the field. Would walk into the United rearguard.
Manchester United
Marouane Fellaini
Wow, we hear you call. Well, it may be pantomime season, but we’re certainly not joking. On his day, the Spaniard has shown he can run the show for United and single handedly save them from humiliation against major rivals (Liverpool 2015 anyone?) and so deserves his spot in the team for his former team.
David de Gea
Argumentative at best, but this season and last season, there is a reason why United have been consistently in the Premier League top four and the Spaniard is it. Definitive.
