Lingfield preview: Crazy about the chances of Chic

David Metcalf | October 29, 2015

Crazy Chic posted a career-best effort when winning last time out and can defy a rise in the weights to follow-up in the 7f handicap on today’s card at Lingfield (14.50).

The Marco Botti trained gelding has produced all his best runs on the all-weather surface, winning twice and finishing third in three runs on the polytrack.

In the last of those at Kempton, Crazy Chic travelled strongly on the heels of the leaders before showing a smart turn of foot to score by 1/2 a length off a mark of 82.

The three-year-old was well on top at the finish and scored with more in hand than the winning margin suggests, and a 5lb rise for that success does not look harsh.

Crazy Chic only does what is required to get the job done, and that makes him very hard for the assessor to get to grip with.

The son of Exceed And Excel is clearly a synthetics specialist on an upward curve and can take this before going on to better things.

Lamar to land listed race

In the 1m Listed contest (15.20), Lamar has plenty going for her and can make a winning return to action.

The James Tate trained filly is a smart sort who has won twice and been placed three times in six starts on the all-weather surface.

Those placings include a cracking neck second to Fresles on the All-Weather Champions Finals Day over course and distance, and that form reads very well in the context of those contests.

Lamar also has a good record fresh, so fitness is unlikely to be an issue following 134 days on the sidelines.

With Luke Morris in the saddle, and a decent draw to operate from in stall six, everything looks in place for a big run.
