The group one Diamond Jubilee Stakes goes as the standout race at Royal Ascot on Saturday, and what a week we’ve had from the Berkshire course already.

Ryan Moore trusted in the main event
Concentrating on the ace of the afternoon – the Diamond Jubilee Stakes – a packed 19-runner field is expected to line-up at 4.20pm, ready to settle this year’s renewal over the six furlong sprint distance. Of the talent, our traders have Limato picked as the winner before the off, with Ryan Moore’s mount priced as a convincing favourite.
The popular five-year-old gelding arrives as a previous course and distance winner, having scored on his first visit here back in 2015 in the group three Pavilion Stakes. He put together a fantastic run of form last year, claiming the Darley July Cup at Newmarket and the Qatar Prix De La Foret at Chantilly, a pair of group one events, while finding only Mecca’s Angel too good in the Nunthorpe at York.
Limato boasts best form in the race
He hasn’t enjoyed anywhere near the same success in 2017, with only one run to his name so far, a rather disappointing effort at Meydan in the Al Quoz Sprint in March. We’re feeling in a forgiving mood with Limato however, and are more than happy to give him another chance.
There’s no doubt the selection boasts the best form in this race, probably by a fair bit too, and we expect him to get things to his liking on Saturday. The pace of the race and underfoot conditions should suit, and it’s no surprise our racing team have him chalked up as the one to beat. Having opened at 3/1, we’ve already seen bits of support.
