After missing out on the signing of Gonzalo Higuain to AC Milan, Chelsea could be about to make a move for Bayern Munich centre-forward Robert Lewandowski.

The Coral traders can report that the Polish hitman has been cut to 7/4 (from 4/1) to join the Blues from the German giants this summer.

Maurizio Sarri is short of options up-front and a move for the three-time Bundesliga top scorer could now be on.

“Higuain’s looking set for AC Milan and that blow seems to have sparked Chelsea into action in their search for a striker. It looks as though they will go all out for Lewandowski and we’ve slashed the odds on the move happening,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.

Any move for a striker may well be bad news for Alvaro Morata at Chelsea, who has struggled in the club’s pre-season so far. The Spaniard is 5/4 to sign for AC Milan this summer with Juventus (7/2) also in the hunt.

“Morata has picked up where he left off last season, unfortunately for him, and it seems as though new boss Sarri may move him on to make room for a new striker. A return to Italy is starting to look very likely, where he enjoyed a profitable spell back between 2014 and 2016,” said Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead.
