Riyad Mahrez - Man City

Odds and preview ahead of Carabao Cup clash

Manchester City look to take one step closer to retaining the Carabao Cup when they travel to Leicester City tonight.

The Citizens are locked in a tussle with Liverpool for Premier League supremacy but could see this trophy as a chance of picking up more silverware.

But if Leicester grab a win they could have a real chance of getting to a final for the first time since they last won the cup in 2000.

Stick around for the in-the-know info and odds, ahead of the big match live from 7:45pm on Sky Sports Football.

Head-to-Head

One of the most memorable meetings in recent history was during Leicester’s title winning season of 2015/16.

The Foxes shocked the league by beating City 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium. A goal from Riyad Mahrez was sandwiched between two Robert Huth strikes.

Man City have dominated in more recent times, winning the last four fixtures in all competitions.

Likely XIs

Kevin De Bruyne could also continue his comeback from injury with a start, following a cameo appearance against the Toffees.

Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz may feel disappointed if they are not amongst the starting eleven named by Pep Guardiola.

The home side could start both Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire as they look to build up match fitness.

But defender Ben Chilwell and Jonny Evans will be unavailable for Claude Puel’s side.

Key Battles

Mahrez will return to the King Power for the first time since he left the club last summer.

The Foxes may be best placed to stop the tricky winger, but actually doing it is a different story.

James Maddison will be key to unlocking a stubborn City defence. Last-16 penalty hero Danny Ward should retain his place in the side.

Foden could partner Fabian Delph and De Bruyne in the middle of the park.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Danilo will have to marshal the contrasting styles of Leicester wingers Marc Albrighton and Demarai Gray.

Match Odds

The home side are 17/2 to channel their Premier League winning season and bag a win.

Guardiola’s men to make it five wins in the last five meetings is at 4/11.

A stalemate after 90 minutes is 21/5.

Leicester have yet to concede in the competition so far. The match to feature Under 2.5 goals is 27/20.

City have also kept clean sheets in both of their League Cup ties so far. They’re 5/4 to win to nil.

Aguero to bag on his return is 4/5 anytime.
