Sensational Spanish soccer action returns to our screens on Wednesday, December 30th with Sky Sports offering punters comprehensive coverage of the first round of La Liga fixtures following the winter break.

Real Madrid’s battle royale with Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid’s encounter with Rayo Vallecano and Barcelona meeting Real Betis are all live, with the other matches available on the red button.

Coral’s football experts have thus put their heads together and come up with five fabulous scorer shouts that are worth a wager this midweek.

Gareth Bale

Wales wing wizard Bale has either scored or assisted in all four of his appearances against Sociedad. Pun intended, when it comes to this fixture for Los Blancos he is the Real deal.

San Sebastian side Sociedad were once managed by Bale’s current international coach Chris Coleman and on three previous occasions by another compatriot in John Toshack.

Bale is a brilliant bet to score first at 4/1 after eight goals in just 11 La Liga outings for Rafa Benitez’s boys.

Antoine Griezmann

When he last vied with Vallecano, Atletico Madrid and France forward Griezmann got two goals. He remains the most consistent attacking option open to Diego Simeone, who has been touted as the next permanent manager of Chelsea.

Griezmann has goals and guile, as well as a proven record in La Liga. He is also a fabulous 4/1 for two or more again, adding to a dozen strikes across all competitions.

Ruben Castro

When you look at the Real Betis squad these days, it’s packed with cult heroes and familiar faces; Joaquin Sanchez and Rafael van der Vaart to name but two.

Long-serving Betis forward Castro has a terrific return of five in his last five against opponents Barcelona and, although he’s never been on the winning side in 10 attempts, we’re just advocating him as an anytime market chance here.

Castro, an awesome 11/2 to score against Barca, is leading Betis marksman with eight in 16, showing at 34 that age is no barrier to being a threat.

Aritz Aduriz

Athletic Bilbao frontman Aduriz is one player that can burst the bubble of high-flying Celta Vigo as the Basque boys go west to Galicia. Aduriz, also 34, has seven goals in 10 starts against Celta and is in double figures in La Liga.

Vigo will be worried by the centre forward, in his third spell with Bilbao, because his bustling style unsettles those around him. On offer at a nifty 9/2 to open proceedings, Aduriz is well worth investing in.

Lucas Perez

Deportivo La Coruna forward Lucas already has a dozen La Liga goals to his name this season, and will be looking to add to that tally against Getafe, with the Galicia club in the Spanish capital.

Neat at 9/5 in the anytime market, Lucas has been linked with a move to the Premier League off the back of his exploits. He has played a huge part in the resurgence of Depor, which delights fans of a certain age who remember their turn of the Millennium vintage.
