KSI v Logan Paul: The lowdown ahead of Manchester Arena bout
Published:Online stars face off in the boxing ring
One of the most hotly anticipated fights of 2018 awaits on Saturday night, as online celebrities KSI and Logan Paul enter the ring at the Manchester Arena.
Ahead of the bout, the Coral News Team have the odds and info on both fighters…
KSI
The 25-year-old (real name Olajide Olatunji Jr.) has some previous experience in the ring. He comfortably won a bout with Joe Weller back in February 2018. But that was a pretty easy assignment, with the less-than-impressive Weller taking 20 seconds to throw his first punch.
The London-born gamer and rapper won that bout in six rounds, by a technical knockout.
At bang on six-foot-tall, he’s the smaller of the two fighters. But in February’s bout with Weller, he showed quick movement and jabbed smartly.
He’s also got the backing of Anthony Joshua ahead of this one, with the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion telling media: “Logan Paul’s a big unit but KSI has done it before.”
“He’s been in there and that experience is good but that’s the only reason I’d go KSI because he’s done it seriously.”
Logan Paul
The American is more of an unknown quantity. He’s yet to fight professionally, but the 23-year-old star seems to have the edge in terms of build.
At 6ft 3in, the rangy Paul has the edge on height. And his powerful physique means he’s generally been the punters’ choice so far.
Coral’s Harry Aitkenhead explained: “The early money is going on Logan Paul to win, making him our odds on favourite. KSI may have had a fight before, beating Joe Weller back in February, but his extra height and weight has meant many are convinced that Paul will win.”
The Ohio native has also impressed many in the build-up, with some impressive sparring footage doing the rounds in the past few months.
The Odds
Ahead of fight night, Coral make Logan Paul narrow favourite at 8/11. Meanwhile, it’s Evens for KSI to triumph.
