Perfect Alchemy has the formula for success at Kempton

Perfect Alchemy shaped really well when runner-up last time out and looks to hold outstanding claims of going one better in the 7f handicap on today’s card at Kempton (15.55).

The filly was last successful at Windsor back in August 2014 for trainer Ralph Beckett when landing a class 4 contest off a mark of 78.

Now in the care of Pat Chammings, the five-year-old is able to race in this lower grade class 5 affair off 69 having shaped really well in her last four outings. In the first of those over course and distance, Perfect Alchemy got hampered several times before keeping on strongly at the death to finish 1 1/2 length third behind Dutiful Son.

To my eyes she would have gone close to winning granted a clear passage, and the daughter of Clodovil hinted that her time was near when finding only Twin Point too good at Lingfield 23 days ago.

If building on that effort, Perfect Alchemy looks weighted to get back to winning ways in the hands of Joe Fanning.

Malaysian Boleh weighted to strike

In the 1m handicap (15.25), Malaysian Boleh can take advantage of a drop in the weights to land the spoils.

The Shaun Lycett trained gelding was in fine form in 2014/15 when winning four times, and in the last of those successes easily beat Dominium by 2 3/4 lengths in a class 4 contest at Chelmsford off a mark of 74.

Malaysian Boleh is now able to race in this less taxing class 5 affair off 2lb lower, and comes into the contest having returned to form last time out at Lingfield when a fine third to Black Dave.

The six-year-old kept on strongly after a slow start to be gaining all the way to the line and be beaten just 1/2 a length, and given how the race panned out it was a cracking effort.
If getting away on level terms this afternoon, Malaysian Boleh is going to be tough to beat for a yard having a good spell at present.

Fandango can waltz to success at Wolverhampton

Irish raider Lady Fandango was a big eye-catcher last time out and can cash-in on what looks a handy mark to open her account in the 1m 4f handicap on today’s card at Wolverhampton (15.10).

The Gordon Elliott trained filly has only had four starts, and shaped nicely on the third off those when fourth of eight to Facade over 1m at Dundalk.

Lady Fandango kept on under tender handling to be beaten just over six lengths, and the winner is a promising sort trained by Aidan O’Brien and now rated 89.

Runner-up Eagle Valley has also come out and won since to be rated 70, and that gives the form a strong look and suggests Lady Fandango is well-treated off a mark of just 63.

Lady Fandango certainly shaped as if it was exploitable when third over course and distance last month, where after being held-up in a slowly run affair and running wide rounding the home turn she kept on in pleasing style to be beaten 2 3/4 lengths.

The four-year-old also remains unexposed and open to plenty of progress, and another plus is that Lady Fandango hails from a yard which has struck golf with two of its last three runners at the track.

Lots to like about Logans Lad

Trainer Mark Loughnane has his team in terrific shape, and Logans lad looks decent value to provide him with another success in the 7f handicap that closes the card (17.15).

Loughnane has saddle seven winners from his last 20 runners, and in Logans Lad has a gelding that is nicely treated on the pick of his form.

The six-year-old is a dual course and distance winner, with the last of those successes coming in a claimer when beating Kings Torus by a short-head.

Logans Lad went on to finish a solid 1 1/2 lengths third to Rouge Nuage in a class 4 contest over coures and distance two starts later off a mark of 73, and is now able to race in this lower grade class 5 affair off 70.

It gives the son of Baltic King every chance from a handicapping perspective, and Logans Lad hinted that his time was near when keeping on to finish a never nearer fifth to Depth Charge over course and distance last time out having been poorly placed.

Connections are also now refitting Logans Lad with the visor, and the booking of Luke Morris to do the steering catches the eye and suggests a big run is expected.
