Spurs seek fourth successive win
Tottenham are 8/5 with Coral to beat Everton and have put together a good run over the Christmas period, with three terrific wins.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have also emerged as surprise possible title contenders, though with a tough second-half of the Premier League season to come, this is a fantastic opportunity to register another three points.
Earlier in the season, this match finished goalless at White Hart Lane between both sides, while this fixture last term was won by Spurs who ran out 1-0 victors.
Kane and Lukaku key for respective sides
Both sides have strikers who can really make a credible difference for their teams and Spurs’ Harry Kane was key last term, with the England international netting at Goodison. Kane is 9/2 to break the deadlock once more, having hit three in three over the festive period.
Romelu Lukaku, meanwhile, has caused opponents no end of problems this term and bagged a brace last time out, so odds of 5/1 to score two or more are well worth considering. Kevin Mirallas also has previous against Spurs as recently as last season in north London, and is available at 2/1 in the anytime market.
With a talented supporting cast, Spurs boast a number of goal threats including Erik Lamela and Son Heung-Min who both struck last time out. The duo are 11/4 and 7/4 respectively anytime.
Martinez: “Really strong team”
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has spoken well of his players in the run-up to this match, though concedes that they must improve.
“As a team we know that we are not far off becoming a really, really strong team. Our performances going forward and our performances in between the boxes have been very impressive,” he said.
“It’s just defensively we are putting ourselves in a very difficult position to get the scorelines reflecting what happens in our performances. That’s what we’re looking to improve, to become better and make sure the second half of the season we get the rewards from all the pain we’ve had to suffer in the last few weeks.”
