Juventus and Fiorentina face off in Coppa Italia semi-final second leg

Fiorentina take a 2-1 aggregate lead into the second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final, and are 2/1 favourites with Coral to beat Juventus in normal time.

The Turin titans are aiming to make the final for the first time since 2012 and win the competition for the first time in 20 years. With the Serie A title more or less secured, they will be aiming for at least a domestic double, though are also in the last eight of the Champions League.

Since their first leg defeat, Juve have won five on the spin, including a comprehensive 3-0 away victory against Borussia Dortmund in Europe. Fernando Llorente who scored in the corresponding fixture of this tie, is 6/4 in the anytime market.

Mario Gomez is another to watch for Vincenzo Montella’s side, having bagged a brace in the team’s last away match. The German striker is therefore fantastic value at 15/8 to strike anytime, while the club’s penalty taker, Gonzalo Rodriguez is well priced at 6/1 in the same market, having dispatched from the spot against Roma.

Old Lady coach Massimiliano Allegri has called for his side to be patient ahead of what will be an intriguing encounter.

“We have to go to Florence to try to overturn the negative result from the first leg,” said Allegri. “It won’t be easy. At the moment, they’re the favourites, as they have the [first leg] result in their favour.

“They’re going through a good spell, playing good football and getting excellent results, so we’ll have to play an intelligent game.

“We know that we’re facing a team with great technique, which plays well, but we also know that we don’t have to immediately win the game in the first half hour. It will be a long game, so a good performance and calm heads are required,” Allegri continued.

He also acknowledged that Stadio Artemio Franchi is a hard place to go to get a result: “It’s not easy to win in Florence. For them, as for us, it’s an important game, because it [the final] would be an important goal to achieve.

“We know we have the ability to get two goals, but we could even get them 10 minutes from the end, so we don’t have to get worked up and anxious to immediately overturn the result, because that will absolutely not be simple.

“We must be very patient and make the most of the opportunities that we will have.”
