‘Sizing At Midnight proved he can be competitive in these races.’

Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard reacts to Brown Advisory and gives us his take on his stable’s day three runners.

After Eldorado Allen’s second place behind Shishkin in the Arkle, we were delighted with Fiddlerontheroof and The Big Breakaway finishing second and third in the Brown Advisory on Wednesday, behind another hot favourite, Monkfish.

There’s plenty to look forward to with both horses and in both races we’ve just come up against top class performers.

Cheltenham 13:55 – Copperhead

After a couple of disappointing runs earlier in the season, Copperhead ran a nice race at Chepstow last time to qualify for this race.

It seems odd to say it about a Festival race, but this is something of a stepping stone for him, as I say we were struggling with him in the autumn, and we’re keen to get him back over fences, with races like the Coral Scottish National or Sandown’s Bet365 Gold Cup on his radar.

So we were looking for somewhere to run him now with those races in mind for the near future, and this race fitted the bill.

That said, he’s a talented horse in his own right, we think he’s going the right way again now, he’s got a big engine, and although there are probably better handicapped horses in this race, he’s not here just to make up the numbers.

Cheltenham 15:05 – Reserve Tank

Reserve Tank got injured at Cheltenham last year so is on the comeback run.

He ran OK last time at Fontwell on his first start back, and is another who we’re looking at future targets with, in his case Aintree, so this run will help get him straight for that.

Again though, he’s a Grade 1 winner so classy enough to be running in this in his own right.

Cheltenham 16:50 – Sizing At Midnight

Sizing At Midnight fell in the Badger Beers at Wincanton in the autumn when running a massive race, and he’s proved in the past that he can be competitive in these types of races.

The drying ground will help him as he loves good ground, he gets in close to the bottom of the handicap here and we do think he’s got it in him to win one of these races one day.
