Joe Tizzard: “Lamanver Pippin should hopefully be in the shake up”

The latest insight from Team Tizzard ahead of this weekend’s runs

Saturday

14.25 Ffos Las – Rarest Diamond

We bought Rarest Diamond at Doncaster in May, she seemed quite small but she’s summered really well, and goes well at home.

She’s another horse for our racing club, and while this is something of a fact-finding mission, she’s schooled well and we think she’ll be alright.

If she were to finish in the first three or four here we’d be chuffed to bits, and after this we’ll know that much more about her.

15.35 Ffos Las – Lamanver Pippin

Lamanver Pippin is a little bit ground dependent, he likes plenty of cut, so this should suit.

He won his novice hurdle here, and has jumped fences well at home, so although these novice chases can be competitive at this time of year, he’s a big strong type who should hopefully be in the shake up here.

Sunday

15.50 Kempton – Lillington

Lillington was brilliant last season, winning five times for our racing club.

After the third of those wins we thought the handicapper might have his measure, but he just kept on improving, and now rated 133, he’ll take the club to the bigger race days.

We’ll find out here how much more improvement there might be to come, but he’ll still give the club plenty of fun.
