Joe Tizzard: “Vision Des Flos is a Grade Two winner and I am hopeful he can find his old form”

Trainer and Coral ambassador Joe Tizzard previews his two runners at Lingfield and Taunton on Saturday.

It has been a frustrating week for every National Hunt trainer in the UK and Ireland with all the racing we have lost.

I was looking forward to the Clarence House Chase Meeting at Ascot and day one of the Winter Million at Lingfield, but we have no control over the weather, so we must take it on the chin.

Temperatures have been forecast to improve next week, so hopefully we can all get back on track. We have an excellent card at Cheltenham on Trials Day to look forward to next Saturday.

I have two runners scheduled this Saturday.

11.55 Lingfield – Tamaris

I don’t run many horses on the all-weather, but Tamaris is a dual-purpose horse, and his owner lives close to Lingfield, so he was keen to have a runner at this meeting.

I have only run him once in my name, and that was over hurdles at Fontwell. He did score on the AW at Wolverhampton earlier in his career, so he looks capable on this surface. I am learning about him all the time.

2.30 Taunton – Vision Des Flos

He has been a great horse for us and I think he still has a lot more to offer. I think he will probably want better ground, but it’s probably as good as it’s going to get at Taunton.

We are back over hurdles with him, which won’t be a problem. He was a Grade Two winner back in the day, as he won the National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell. I am hopeful he can find some of his old form.
