Joe Tizzard: “I’ll be disappointed if Rarest Diamond doesn’t run a big race”

Saturday
13.30 Doncaster – Rarest Diamond
She had a wind-op through the Autumn. She had a trapped Epiglottis which was the same thing that Cue Card had back in the day. She ran a lovely comeback race at Hereford. I think she is crying out for three miles. This looks a nice opportunity and I’ll be disappointed if she doesn’t run a really big race.
13.57 Hereford – Elixir De Nutz
He’s a Tolworth winner that we hoped might prove a Champion Hurdle contender last season but it didn’t happen. He’s a bit fragile, and is a bit late coming back, but he has schooled really well and has stacks of ability on his day.
This is a competitive little race. I was hoping we might find a Beginners Chase where he was well-in, but they don’t seem to be about anymore. It’s a great track for him to start out at, and whatever happens he’ll improve.
14.05 Doncaster – Ofalltheginjoints
This looks the right next step for him. He is very progressive. He came on for his first run and won nicely last time at Exeter. The handicapper has put him up to 143, so while he’s still a novice he can have a go at a couple of graded races. The ground and the track will suit him perfectly. It’s not the hottest Grade 2 you’ll ever see.
15.15 Doncaster – Sizing Codelco
He is still rated 142 and has clearly got a stack of ability. We think we’ve got him in good form, and he does love a bit of decent ground which we’ve got here. We are really looking forward to running him, and he’s dropped down to a mark where he can be competitive.
Sunday
13.55 Southwell – Mocacreme Has
Ran a beautiful race up at Uttoxeter last time. It was very eye-catching. He should take all the beating, he really should.
15.00 Southwell – Lanspark
He ran on the same day as Mocacreme Has. He ran a bit green but has sharpened up for the experience. He’s a five year old and needs to be running as he was in a point to point yard all last season and never got a chance to run.
15.30 Southwell – Katahdin
He is a horse that has shown decent bits of form and we are just waiting for it to click on the racecourse. This will be his last hurdle before he goes Novice handicap chasing. He’s capable of winning a hurdle race, he just doesn’t show on the track what he shows at home.
