Joe Tizzard: “Elegant Escape is one of our biggest chances of the week”

Ballymore Hurdle – Vision De Flos

Vision De Flos will love the ground. He handled it very well at Exeter last time and he has thrived since that run. Samcro is going to take a good bit of beating based on what I’ve seen but Vision De Flos is a good horse and should run a big race on the ground.

RSA Chase – Elegant Escape

I think he’s one of our best chances of the week. He’ll relish the conditions. He has some strong form with Black Corton this year.

They’ve been nip and tuck with each other. I think it’s a wide open race. There isn’t much between the three Irish horses and there’s not much between our horse and Black Corton over here. Our horse has improved all season and I think he’s got a great chance.

Coral Cup – Royal Vacation

This is ultra-competitive, as it always is. Royal Vacation won a nice two and a half mile chase around there last year and on his day he can be very competitive. That said it’s a hot race for him.

He should handle the ground as he’s won on soft before. He likes to get into a rhythm so hopefully this ground will just slow them down a bit.

Fred Winter – Padleyourowncanoe

We don’t train many juvenile hurdlers, I think Padleyourowncanoe is only our second or third. He’s a bonny little chap that loves soft ground, so the deeper the better.

He’s a good little horse. Tom Scu is very keen on him each way and I can understand why. He gets two and a half miles, so Tom will ride him nice and handy and we know he’ll keep galloping.

Champion Bumper – Jaytrack Parkhomes

We’ve thrown him in here as he won at Fontwell and deserves to have a shot. He proved he likes these conditions at Fontwell but it’s clearly a big, big step up. The owners were keen to have a runner and it won’t do him any harm.
