He has won two fantastic races at Exeter this year and has taken a big step forward since having a wind-op back in October. We saw this race and we thought we had nothing to lose. It is an open-looking contest, and he goes there full of himself. I think he can be in the mix with young Freddie on board.
After finishing third in the Haldon Gold Cup, we expected a little more from War Lord this season, but, as of yet, things have not gone his way. As he has got older, he prefers better ground, and it should be ok for him at Kempton. The handicapper has given him a chance, but he just needs to find some confidence. Hopefully, we can have a good campaign with him over the spring.
He has run some crackers in defeat this season. I think he is very workable off this mark. It is a lovely race to be in. He has run around Uttoxeter before, and he handles some cut in the ground. It could be bottomless which is my only concern with him. The horse is in good form, and he loves the track.
He is a consistent horse who is still a maiden. There is not a lot between any of these runners on the ratings. I think 2m7f around Chepstow will be fine for him. It is a good chance for him to record his first success.
She won really nicely at Lingfield last time. This is a step up in class for her, but she is going to be receiving weight from all four of the runners here. She will love the ground so we are hopeful of a big run.
