Four Joe Hart next club tips
If the writing wasn’t already on the wall at Manchester City for Joe Hart, then Pep Guardiola’s signing of Barcelona and Chile keeper Claudio Bravo made the message crystal clear.
Long-serving stopper Hart has no regular first XI future at the Etihad under the Catalan coach, and is now reportedly considering his options.
Bearing this situation in mind, Coral experts have got their head together and come up with four Hart next club tips for you punters to consider…
Sunderland
At 6/4, current Sunderland odds make the Stadium of Light the most likely destination for Hart.
Swapping Champions League football and challenging for other honours for a relegation battle under David Moyes is something of a humbling, but if Hart wants guaranteed first-team football the Black Cats can guarantee that.
With Vito Mannone out for at least three months after tearing elbow ligaments, Hart could literally walk through the door on Wearside and protect the posts because only young Jordan Pickford classes as a senior goalie.
Other Sunderland odds that may be of interest to punters are 6/4 for them to be relegated this season and 5/1 to finish bottom of the Premier League.
Liverpool
Just like the Black Cats, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are without a goalkeeper through injury as Loris Karius broke his hand in pre-season.
Although German gaffer Klopp has distanced himself from reports suggesting Anfield will be Hart’s next destination, he remains among Liverpool bets to be signed up at 7/4.
Belgium understudy stopper Simon Mignolet has endured plenty of criticism throughout his Reds career, with Austrian veteran Alex Manninger providing support in the absence of Karius.
Everton
The Toffees lost faithful servant Tim Howard over the summer as the American returned home and signed for MLS franchise Colorado Rapids.
Although new Everton boss Ronald Koeman swooped for Dutch compatriot Maarten Stekelenburg, there is a sense on this side of Merseyside that a high-profile arrival at Goodison Park is needed.
With financial muscle to flex, the Toffees are 6/1 shots to take Hart from Man City, though Koeman is refusing to be drawn into discussing rumours, instead insisting he has no interest in adding another keeper.
Borussia Dortmund
Our other suggested destinations for Hart are all lacking Champions League football, but Dortmund could provide him with that.
Perhaps the one area where last season’s Bundesliga runners-up have been lacking in recent years is a top-class goalkeeper. Roman Weidenfeller is a cult hero for the Yellow Wall to worship, but he’s 36 and always carried a bit of timber.
Swiss stopper Roman Burki was a regular in 2015/16, yet he hasn’t staked a sufficient claim to be first-choice for his country. Dortmund thus make for an intriguing 8/1 punt as Hart’s next club.
