He’s a nice horse. He’s had a wind operation and it’s his first run since. He won last year and has been going alright at home. I haven’t sat on him but I hear they are quite happy with him.
This is a good starting point. He’s a very consistent horse so hoping that the wind op will bring about some more improvement
I had the choice of four in this and it wasn’t easy. They have all been working nicely at home so very difficult to pick the right one. I have ridden a couple of them in their work.
Owen Burrows’ Damlaj has been going nicely but so has William’s Al Hadeer, and I’ve gone for him as I think he’s just a little bit more forward at this stage.
Owen Burrows won this race last year, and nobody was expecting it too. The horse was a nice, big sleepy baby and he won at 25/1 so you never quite know what’s going to happen with these newcomers.
He’s one of my favourites. He won the Hackbridge Stakes at Newbury last year. He’s a really tough horse and I think he’s going to improve again this season.
He is just a real smashing horse that has gone from strength to strength. He disappointed a bit on his last season but he’d a few quick races so you can forgive him that. I think whatever he does today he’ll improve as the season goes on.
Brando will be favourite, and he likes Newmarket, and Dreamfield is a good horse too.
They took Royal Marine over to Dubai where he didn’t operate on the dirt and instead of persevering they pulled up stumps and have returned here for a turf campaign. They think a lot of this horse.
Zakouskie looked very exciting when he won at Kempton. It’s an exciting race, I’m looking forward to watching it. I was hoping that Almashriq would run in this, but he goes for a conditions race on Thursday instead.
I really like this filly, she has a beautiful pedigree. She is a half-sister to Muntazah who I rode out in Dubai and to Talaayeb who I rode in the 1000 Guineas to finish fourth. She’s gorgeous to look at and has been working really well.
She’s been showing us all the right signals and I am really looking forward to riding her. It’s her first run and the priority is for her to have a great introduction and to enjoy the experience. If we can win then great but I want her to have a good time first and foremost.
He won at Chelmsford on his last start, and he’s a nice horse. He’s a typical Sir Michael Stoute horse that will keep progressing. Whether he is ready to win first time up we will see.
