Jim Crowley is back with another exclusive blog with Coral, this time running through his rides on Saturday at Longchamp.

Longchamp 2.50 – Tilted Kilt

My main reason for going to Longchamp on Saturday is for a very strong ride in the Group 2 Prix Dollar, which I’ll come on to, but I’ve also picked up a very nice ride on Tilted Kilt in this Arqana Series sales race, which carries a big prize pot. I’ve not ridden him before, but have enjoyed plenty of success with his trainer, William Knight, over the years.

He was a winner at Kempton on debut, and finished runner-up there on his most recent start. That was over a mile, as is this, and he seemed to get the trip well. Very soft going would be a question mark as his two best runs have been on the all-weather, but if he acts on the ground, he could pick up some of this prize money.

Longchamp 4.43 – Anmaat

As I say, this horse is the reason I’ve travelled to Paris. Anmaat won this race two years ago, since when he’s only had three runs, but they do include wins in the Group 1 Prix D’Ispahan [also at Longchamp] last year, and a Group 3 at Haydock in August. The runner-up at Haydock [Certain Lad] has since won a Group 3 in France, so the form is rock solid, particularly as my fellow was making his first start for well over 400 days.

It was a foot injury that kept him off the track, and Owen Burrows and the team have done a great job to get him right and back to winning ways, and this looks a lovely opportunity for him to win another big prize. I have plenty of respect for Jayarebe, we’re giving him weight and his second to Economics at Deauville was a very good run, while My Prospero also beat Certain Lad on his last run, so is closely matched to us on that form.

However, Anmaat is versatile in terms of the ground, he clearly goes well at Longchamp, and his lead-in to this race is the same as two years ago. He can be expected to come forward lots from his comeback, so I’m very hopeful of a big run, he’s a worthy favourite for sure.
