Jamelia favourite to leave Strictly next
Published:
Bookmaker Coral has installed Jamelia as the 7-2 favourite to be the next celebrity to leave Strictly Come Dancing, after she found herself in the dance-off with Iwan Thomas at the weekend. Jeremy Vine and Carol Kirkwood are next in the betting at 4-1, while Anthony Ogogo can be backed at 5-1.
Meanwhile the firm has described Peter Andre as the most popular contestant in Strictly history, as money continues to pour in for him winning the Glitter Ball trophy. He is the clear favourite at 2-1 and will cost bookmakers a huge pay-out if he wins. Jay McGuiness is his closest rival at 3-1, while Katie Derham has overtaken Helen George as the top female at 11-2.
“Jamelia has gone from being one of the favourites to win Strictly to an outsider and she is going to have to really fight to hold onto her place in the competition,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
“Her best chance of survival is if Jeremy Vine or Carol Kirkwood produce a poor performance on next week’s show,” added McGeady.
