ITV Racing Preview: Can Ryan Moore claim a July Cup hat-trick?

Racing returns to our screens this weekend as the ITV cameras head down to Newmarket and Ascot.
The July Festival at Newmarket concludes with the Darley July Cup Stakes, where Ryan Moore is looking for a third successive win, this time with Southern Hills.
And there are also four thrilling races to look forward to at Ascot, including the Summer Mile Stakes.

Seventh Kingdom should make progress after impressing in a winning debut over 7f at Doncaster. The Frankel colt started slowly but improved late on and will have learned from the experience.
But he’ll face stiff competition from Frankie Dettori and King Zain. The Kingman colt got off to a flying start, winning a 7f Kempton maiden.
Meanwhile, Devious Company also did well on debut at Haydock, before impressing again at the same venue despite a penalty recently.
Mohaather proved capable of performing at Group 2 level despite a seventh in the Queen Anne. A clear passage would have seen him place but he comes up against Marie’s Diamond, who was third that day.
Elsewhere, Skardu will be looking to prove a point having been caught too far back in the Queen Anne. The three-year-old won Craven at Newmarket before an impressive third in the 2,000 Guineas and a fourth in the St James’ Palace.
Ryan Moore has won each of the last two July Cups, with Ten Sovereigns last year and U S Navy Flag the year before. He’ll be looking to make it a hat-trick aboard Southern Hills, whose only race since Royal Ascot in 2018 was in this year’s Commonwealth Cup, where he finished 7 1/4 lengths to Golden Horde.
Adam Kirby teams up with Golden Horde for this race and the pair head the betting following their impressive win at Ascot last month.
But Dettori will be looking to spoil the party with Sceptical, who has excelled at sprinting, but finished third at Royal Ascot to Hello Youmzain, who also runs.
